DESERTS!

mood: Reminiscing.

there are many things that i miss about HK.
walking around. hiking the escalator.
the cold weather.
the harbour.
the city.

but the MAIN thing i'll miss about HK,
no it's not even shopping
well OK and a little on shopping
it's their deserts!!!

but when everyone came to visit,
and i said desert.
they thought it would be something like,
'sweet talk' or 'KTZ' or 'Kim Gary' style.

those deserts are overrated.
and passe already in HK.

perhaps only a few shops still operate as tong sui shops.
honeymoon and one more in nathan road's area.

ANYWAY~

almost every day, before i left,
i had to stop by VANILLA.
to get their choc smudge cake.
it's SO bitter sweet that it's a SIN to eat it.
and i would say it's the cheapest cheap thrill desert on mid-levels.


the price starts from HKD26 onwards.

ANTIQUE, it's near the famous egg tart shop.
right opposite. forgotten the street's name.

they sell all sorta cakes and deserts.
one was called, tira-i-mis-u?
OMG i forgotten!

OMFG.
what is wrong with my memory skill!
going down the drain as age catches up.

most deserts in HK are slightly smaller than our palm.

SHIFT. again i forgotten the street's name.
but if you BRING me there,
i CAN so SHOW you where it is.



the deserts in this shop is basically a designer's desert.
price can range from... apx HKD60 to HKD200.
pretty steep. but it does taste so YUMMIE ah~



they also have a courtyard area.
which is SO cool!
so rustic and yet so modern.
but i was TO shy to snap pictures.
LOLs.



if you thought SHIFT was mad with the pricing.
ZOE would probably make Bakerzin look cheap.



but of cuz not all their cake is priced at this level,
some do start from HKD38 onwards.
but to know that there's a HKD1500 cake,
that's just... crazy!
add another HKD300 and i can have my miu miu wallet.



tho another requirement from them is,
if you don't eat more than HKD50 per person,
you are not entitled to sit in that restaurant.
you'll have to settle with take away~
which is what we did. so poor ma.



however fancy their new lifestyle deserts maybe,
i still love my put chai ko.
cheap and YUMMIE.

2nd January 2008 (Tuesday)

last night at the hotel.




oh ritz calrton, it's because of you, i'm spoilt. thank god. i have my silk comfy-tor now...

regretted for not snapping the new year's display from the room's view.
i didn't know they would remove it the very next day~
too efficient.
unlike *cough cough* country.

for the last day,
we didn't want to go out initially,
but already made the appointment with xiaolu.
so we just woke up very late.

had the late breakfast,
dashed to the art district 798.

pretty far away from the hotel.
but it was worth the visit.

we only then regretted not going out earlier.
the art movement here in china has changed a lot.

buildings of cause has a major revamp,
not just because of the olympics,
but i guess chinese finally figured that there's not much point to live in the past.

and this is also one of the conflict that the people have.
changed are good,
but this is probably too fast for them to adapt.

heritage is not entirely lost, of cause.
since they still spilt everywhere, anywhere
just most structures have had a major revamp.
residential side is still... pretty much rustic.

anyhow, 798 was previously an industrial area.
later turned into a soho art district.
it reminds me a lot of berlin.

our last pic and my last meal in beijing so salah...


it's pretty amazing that i managed to visit beijing at the year end,
and to celebrate new year's there with friends i made along the way.
i figured that after coming down to hk,
that is my last "holiday" for the year,
but i ended up going else where.

overall beijing has been superb.
even with the brutal cold. i so miss it!!!
i am so prepared for another negative weather~ just 3 tops. 2 bottoms.

one thing i love about this city is the structure.
how it is divided into 6 different rings,
just like Pareehsss~
can't wait to visit the city of love!

once again,
i did a 'budget trip',
which i ended up spending more than what i budgeted for.
a total of... RMXk. damn!
but nonetheless it was a good experience!

was also kinna funny at the end of this trip back home was to hong kong first.

time flies with just a blink.

this year,
time passed by so fast.
too fast.

perhaps as you age,
or grow,
time becomes irrelevant.

even if each second seems precious.
different.
you just can't count it anymore.

it just passes you by,
and you can't stop it.

unlike when you were young,
the days feels like,
forever.

but no doubt it was an enjoyable ride.

tho it feels like i was 17 only yesterday,
even tho i am no longer a teen.
i still act like one,
behave like one,
look like one.

hell i might just be one!

with moments like these
the year end,
we often just reflect the pass.

and wonder what awaits us in the near future,
only god would know,
what he has installed for me,
it's a mystery to reveal.

next year.
that's just days away.

seriously there's nothing much to do but camwhore!

thus there's nothing more to do but camwhore...
so ALL the cast... or rather the important CASTs
has a HUGE long QUE to snap a quickie photo with them!

and i mean LONG!!!
so long it could probably take 35 mins for your turn to snap a picture with Mickey!

and another 35 mins for a picture with Minnie. and so on.

so... I didn't bother much...
only wanted Mickey.

or orlando bloom
i just... wanted it.
hahaha.



and this kinda queuing up happens from 9.30AM,
since the moment we arrived.
obviously everyone else did the same le

so snap snap snap snap... the whole damn day.

ok. so there was some games that we did play.



not too bad... i just stood one side.

BUT i really enjoyed the 3-D cinema... was SOOOOOOO funs!
they sang/played all the famous disney songs
and donald was like going into each of the different worlds.
oh so GOOD! LOL!


and then simba reminded me of somebody... haha.

then disneyland turned into a 'mardi gras' parade...






the day night ended with a spectacular display of cheap pyrotechnics.
but spectacular.
just cheap looking.
as in BOSAN sorta cheap.
like what can you except since they do this other everynights.
nonetheless better than malaysia's very pathetic and even BOSAN pyrotechnics.








ah~ end of the day it was just good.
regardless how much we spent.
the moments camwhoring is just priceless. LOLs.

the other day when i was in the toilet,
this old man came in and said OPS.
i was HUH?

then he came back again...
i think he thought he went into the wrong loo.

Mid-Levels to IFC.
IFC to The Landmark.
The Landmark to Admiralty.
Admiralty to Wan Chai.
Wan Chai all the way back to Mid-Levels.

Horror.
(but i enjoy it)

and,
riding bus number 11, takes up so much fuel,
so i eat and eat and eat.
over here they serve like,
BIG huge BOWL!!!
like three times of what they serve back home!
i probably will DIE of hungar once i get back home.
otherwise order double.

we'll see if i gain weight.

went to the gym on saturday.
this is one thing what i like about FF
i have gym access to any FF around the globe.
and oh boy was i culture shocked at the shower.
they don't have a changing room.
well not that i will use it...

their shower was like...
