Tuesday 31 October 2006

day two. Kunitachi. Shinjuku. Harajuku. Shinjuku.

Kunitachi

it's a fabulous area i must say. nothing like petaling jaya. kajang. bandar utama. kota kemuning. damansara perdana. sri hartamas. klang. ampang. etc. maybe a little similar to those housing areas in singapore instead. like tampines. love the fact that the train station is nearby but you still can't really walk you have nothing better to do. *cuz walking so much and another 2km would kill me* so i sat the bus everyday. *well except one day, i decided to walk and snap pictures* the cost was ¥170 for a really short ride, but long walk. hehe. i felt it was worth every ¥. (actually the local consider kunitachi as a city... mmm)

wendy's house was the west exit. it's purely residential area. just a few shops to be seen. mainly a MOS Burger shop. A petrol station. and that's about it. until her residential area, you could then see a laundy shop. and shiedo outlet. i don't know why. people are probably very vain there. yes. even the aunty who sweeps the floor have make up on. but NO it's nothing like rosie of PCK. they have very sane normal pretty make up on for work. very nice wan.

while the south was a much more happening area. there's almost life there. haha. lots of shops and almost mall like buidlings. yoshinoya is a *to my suprise* rice shop and not noodle/ramen shop in japan. there's a ¥100 nearby, thou i never found it. there's also mcD. lots of shop basically. even those 20mins hair cut shops. keke. oh but it's not RM15 kay, the price remains ¥4050.

in order to get back to the west side you had to walk a big circle. there's no bridge. or unless you have the monthly JR train pass you could then swipe yourself inside the train station and head for the west side. was alright la, cuz i did wanna walk and see the area, and if i lived there i would have their monthly train ticket ma.

one of the few last buidlings that would have that triangle roof top.

Walk of the day.

* woke up about 1100, decided to just go back to Shinjuku for a quick proper view of the miserably train station that fright the hell out of me. yes. i was scared by the people in Shinjuku. very FAST their movement. somehow today it wasn't all that bad. i felt their pace was somehow... slower than before. maybe it was me. maybe it was the horrible luggage that i had to carry with me that made me felt like i was a slow walking cow.
* immediately i went straight off to harajuku. the place that we've all be told and heard lots about. the harajuku girls. WOOT! i was teruja just thinking of going there. making a stop there.
* before i stopped at each station, my imagination would run wild, thinking that the people at each stops are like totally bizzare and different, you know i blame that on all the mangas i read while growing up
* upon arrival. CHEH. why like kampung wan! where are my harajuku gilrs ah??? why all aunties wan??? OMG gwen stefani lied about the harujuku girls! she made them up!!! i see nothing but a kawaii toy shop and normal looking people! can i go home now?

* well fine i decided to walk along the flow. and i saw a lot of normal looking shops. there's not a single sight of WEIRD dressed up people. then a hustler approached me. WOOT. but sorry i have no idea what he said. i just SHUUZZZ him off with WTF!? in glamour england.
* walk walk walk. i got sorta lost. but always a happy lost when i'm in a foreign land. oh so teruja. maybe this leads me to yoyogi park. since everyone's walking there. unfotch not. but i did manage to find a second hand shop for kimonos. spend like half the day there. i lurves it. had ice cream.

second hand kimono shop.

japan ain't that advance. no. i didn't eat mcflurry there. i ate the jap ice-cream. YUM.

* exhausted. drained. i decided to open up the book bernard pinjam me (it now looks like crap, i'm affraid of returning it back to him... ops) chiew! yoyogi park was like next to the train station? DANG! and i'm now 5km away from it? shit!
* amazingly even with a map i still got lost. i was somehow in a forest. and then i saw a shrine. for the first time. i mean a japan style one la. those you see in kill bill. AMAZING. Meiji Shrine.

ta da.

i've no idea what these are. looks fascinating thou. snap snap.

kawaii...

* yoyogi park was next to the meiji shrine. and by the time i found the park it was almost dark. well it was about 1600 and it gets dark by then already. Yong called. we decided to meet up at the station.
* he brought me to another side of Harajuku. i finally saw some harajuku girls. very little. like they are almost extinct. haha. well apparently they are mostly seen on saturday or sundays, the other days they stay home and rest etc. yong then bought me a crepe ice cream. yummie.

Shinjuku night life.

* yong brought me to an electronical shop. got my ipod mini. blue. wanted the playstation portable. but the region is like tak ngam. so didn't bother much la. but cheaper by RM200 leh! even the ipod saved me RM214.
* and later to reliase... that japan has the ipod mini in RED. woots. i had to have it. so... HAHAHAHAHA. i have 2 kawaii ipods now.
* we then ate curry. japan style. erm... super salty and sweet. haha. nothing like our Malaysian curry.

yummie... no it's not all that yummie... haha.

*also saw a baseball field. you know those you always see... should have played a little. so menyesal now. oh well. we'll open one in malaysia. haha.

i know it looks dark la.
*waited for Wendy. she had work that night. right after classes. yeah that's how her life is like. everyday run here and there. do homework. get stuck in subways. (she then made me follow her the next day on the morning madness ride of japan railways, peak hour 0730 - 0930)

the phone i always use in japan. haha. yes i would walk back to the same phone. heh.

i saw this vintage shoe shine stall the day before. i felt weird seeing it. you know that feeling... granny cleaning your shoes. it's just so not right.

so PINK which ones you want??? call them!!! hahaha.

they plucked these apples before i arrived. so BIG! juicy. the ones with spots actually have honey in them. natural honey. so sweet. saliva dripping. ops.

Thoughts for now.

i should do something with the background. it's bugging me. and my readers. DANG. like i care. haha.
*so after that i did change the background... it's much lighter now*

DAMNIT. i should have snap that kawaii shop and that kimono shop.
*the picture of Kunitachi station and kawano was from their website. haha. why snap when it's online?

HAPPY HelloWEEN y'all.

they have shops like this everywhere. some were better. too bad i didn't had the guts to snap their pictures... le sigh.

basically ¥100 is our RM3.15

Friday 27 October 2006

day one. Shinjuku.

i promise the next entries will not be so long and boring. (actually i doubt it...)
26.10.06 (0337)

the LAMB in the big CITY.

* apx 0635 i arrived Narita airport on the 16th Oct.
* custom had this immigration officer that was so due for a retirement but nevertheless his eyesight was so good he manage to spot alien's technical error. (HUH?) people had lots of mistakes written on their travellers form. except mine of cuz. *wink*
* oh they don't allow me to rent a handphone unless i have a credit card. and no i don't have one and even if i did i will never bring it to japan, milan, new york, china, indonesia, hong kong and the list goes on... i'll go so broke i'll have to beg for a ticket back home. and once i'm home... i'll have to hide somewhere high and secluded.
* the train system is farking confussing! had to pay 3500Yen for a ride to Shinjuku via JR Shinkansen. (i felt so broke after purchasing that ticket) just so i wouldn't get stressed up with looking any futher if there's any other cheaper ways to get there. (a taxi would have cost RM1200.00, yes that much)
* i got even lost in Shinjuku (i was already a little lost in Narita). see i was suppose to meet a friend (Wendy) in Shinjuku. but she's at class. and i have no way to communicate with her, until i get a handphone card... (i know everything will eventually turn out fine, but it still a drama diva moment when you are technically lost with out a phone or destination while carrying 3 huge heavy bags, worst when i was coming back)
* apx 0945 eventually got Yong (couldn't get thru Wendy's phone line), Wendy's boyfriend. he told me to wait a while. but me being me... i can't stand still in a city so exciting and so busy... like what la... you want me to wait here while hundreads and hundreads of people are like rushing... imagine Singaporeans in the morning catching a MRT ride but you times fifty to that ammount... yes it was like a army of black suit walking ants marching around me. oh so teruja.
* found a aunty who speaks very minimal England. (and later noticed she don't even know Shinjuku very well) she insist that BUNKA is at Shibuya and not Shinjuku. so she asked that i get a ticket to Shibuya. once i arrive Shibuya... they said BUNKA is not in that district.
* got fed up called Wendy again, she finally answered me call. YAY. and went back to Shinjuku and finally meet up with her. she passed me her handphone to play with for the day. and sent me off for my own mini walk (well kinna long) after i tour BUNKA first. then walk around Shinjuku while she still had lessons until about 1600.
* finally saw all the landmark that she gave me. like first kicthen, noni juice company. (initially when she describe all the landmarks i had an imagination that her university area was so kampung... that why i got shock when i came out from the train station... WHY SO BIG WANT THIS PLACE... oh NOOO...)

SHINJUKU.

* my eyes were looking here and there.
* busy busy busy city.
* super vibrant with all the neon lights (no it wasn't ON yet but they were there la those big billboards)
* LUMINE has like 3 big complex. (it's their shopping mall) just one is the size of 1Utama.
* lots of walking here and there. don't know what to see/buy... aimlessly walking in JAPAN. walk walk walk... hehe.
* went to Kabuki-Cho district to snap a few quick pictures of male hustlers for PINK. since she wanted me to bring back her a male from Japan. HO HO.
* first night we had a dinner in Kunitachi. the area where i'll be calling home for the next 5 days. pleasant country/city area.
* i was dead tired. as i've not been sleeping since... Saturday night and today's Monday. no i didn't manage to sleep on the plane. and once i arrived i started walking already. blah.

Thoughts of the Day.

KLIA beats Narita airport. HO HO. i'm serious.
*ok fine so maybe i didn't had a proper glance of the airport since i left like immediately since i didn't want to be in a train full of people. they said if you are in a train in-between 0730-0930 you'll be in a sardine can. and no no i didn't want that with 3 bags. NO. but silly me... the train i'm in... is a reserved seating. so i don't have to stand. i have my name on my seat*

If Shinjuku is that BIG... then... Shibuya must be... mmm... i wonder...

Toilets are so funny. *too bad i didn't bother taking any pictures*

People walking in black suits... don't bother talking to them. SCARY!
People static... say HI. they might help you. but you'll get even LOST. since... JAPAN is so big they wouldn't know all the roads in their own district... what more another city or different districts... le SIGH!

wendy and me

abc is actually a shoe shop like bata... mmm...

giant billboards

cute old park

be patient as the fruit is sweet.
i just gotten my pictures... well some of them. so i'm busy busy written my journal and shocking life in Japan. meanwhile... this is what i wore for the red carpet while Bernard was in the blue baju johore. *his pants was a too tight, and he had to use my samping and i used his cuz the length made the samping looked weird when he was wearing what i wore, especially since the pants was tight* and the flower was part of what we needed to have on for the TIFF party entry. was so not part of our attire or accessories... thou it matches very well. keke.
*more embarrassing stories of on the red carpet... next next next week*

*oh right they travel first class, BITCHes!*

went to sevenATEnine last week. and i must say... the food there is nothing that special at all! my... mmm... i forgotten what i ordered... was BLUNT and tasteless... so called designer's food. just acceptable. hmm... however my classmates food looked YUMMIE... that prawn noodle thing... and stupid waitress... made all of us ordered a side dish when we were already full.
*we had lunch at 5pm... ya... LUNCH at 5pm, dinner at 7pm, what were we thinking*
the bill came to about RM340 plus plus for 4 heads. what did we order? nothing special really. just... blunt boring food. nothing kampung restaurant in bali can't beat. and the food there is way better! it's not about money it's about the value for it... and i just felt... con by them. le sigh.

Thursday 12 October 2006

i choose money.

was browsing someone's blog. well you know who you are. anyways, i said i would choose money, for various reasons, if you were given a choice over friendship, family and fame.

(i'm looking at the question as a prize ok! you know if like you win something which one you want, ok so maybe even in life i would still want money... who doesn't???)

friendship. if they are your true friends, you wouldn't need to choose them. they know who they are and they'll stick by you no matter what. poor or not... cuz a real frienship is like a diamond, rare a precious hard to find. but then again people change... and so does a diamond... mmm... *smack you on the head diamond can change wan meh!*
besides... your friends have their rights to choose you too you know!

family... what more do i have to say about this? no matter how you hate your parents, siblings, pets... they are no matter what your relatives. yes including your pets, you wanted them, you'll stick with them! so even if you are broke, have aids, crazy, insane, dirty, naughty, horny, etc etc etc... they are still your family no matter what. blood is thicker than water. air yang dicincang tidak akan putus. and miss sharon said... bagai aur dengan tebing *hope i got that right*
haaa... your parents, siblings... including your pets... have no rights to choose you... they are STUCK with you. HO HO HO.

fame. HA and throw away your freedom to wear fugly clothes out to the street. and have to look good for PICTURE MOMENTs and have camera dogs chasing you around town, and stalkers harrasing you? no thank you.
*thou i'm about to face lots of camera man/woman in TOKYO and i do welcome you snapping pictures of me, i'll try my very best not to pose like Bai Ling, or even be a Bai Ling... and no i will not be XIAO for your entertainment purpose... PAY ME!*

i'm contented with where i am. but if ever given a choice i'll still choose money. money makes me happy. money can renovate a palace for me. EMPTY? no. when it's filled with stuffs i want, things i chosed personally. i will take time decorating my palace. using medieval architecture, then every once in a while change it... mmm... *ain't we getting a bit too far here*... i'll be able to make donations to SPCA, kids living with AIDS. i can eat whatever i want. but if you no money... you have NOTHING. zero. *and probably not even your fake friends* yes so if money can even buy fake friends... why not? since people come and go and nothing last forever.

so live with it be with it. i CHOOSE MONEY!!! but that doesn't mean i'm materialistic. i'm just realistic.
like how the apprentice's theme song goes... MONEY MONEY MONEY... MONEY! ka $ ching $ ka $ ching!
MUAKS!

p/s i found pictures behind the scene with mell *see the double Ls again* but i can't load it up... URGH. so wait la until i come back from my hometown... yeah. that means JAPAN. hehe.
*dream on daniel, dream on!*

sunsilk

wow they have this really cool hair spray from sunsilk, thou it's not available here in malaysia yet. should be coming to our shores very soon and i really do recommend that. however check out their new product... leave it on conditioner. NO i am not advertising their product(s)... and i'm not endorsing it either... i use Vidal Sasson... cuz i like it. but i should change my shampoo soon... *sunsilk... pay me! vidal sasson... pay ME!* =)

here's a quick preview of impian illyana's sunsilk ad.

yes... every few seconds we, the styling team had to touch up. if you ever imagine how they do those hair ads... here's a dream come thru video, except this is just a minor one la... even so, it was sorta a horror shoot for me. haha. and was even worst for the hair department.

thou i wouldn't mind doing one, just ONE proper hair ad one fine day. those typical long silky hair ad. mmm... nice...
*there's a new regulation in the hair commercial now, it's a must to use REAL HAIR and not the hair extention or fake hair etc, REAL LONG SILKY HAIR*
*aww you mean all these while those hair are FAKEs? well not all la!*

voices behind the scene, bernard chauly, joanna lee, oh sok peng. those noisy bunch of people. haha. and no we are not the production team invovled with producing impian illyana *i left that set/production... 2 months ago* we just happen to be doing the sunsilk's ad.

peace y'all.

YAY. i will get to see edison chan, daniel wu, lee joon-ki in tokyo WOOT.
*daniel, please la jaga image! stop it paris daniel stop it, BLEH*

what...! i might be... 2(X) years old but i'm a kid in the heart ok!

and no worries i will try my best not to go as BAI LING and OPS ops OPS all the way just for attention... in fact i've ordered a tailor made baju melayu and bernard will be going in a baju johore. mine's in SUBTLE limegreen and bernard's in royal blue. *i actually stood in the fabric shop 1 hour just to figure which color combination would work best... to suit our shoes... hahaha* mmm but everyone seems to be going in BLACK... should i bring a suit just incase i freak out... totally NOT! i love my colors. HO HO.

note: pictures are from the tokyo international film festival website.

Wednesday 4 October 2006

post delete.

ok i don't get it why people can blog something, and few hours later... they delete that entry and tell you blog deleted for some reason. isn't the web log done because it's a LOG? like a journal. so why bother writting something then delete it? cuz some bimbos will read? affraid that they might get shocked of some stupid news? then in the first place why did you published it! now that you deleted your post just makes me more curious what you wrote!!! idiots!

are you ashamed with what you posted... was it something kinky? i'll find out soon... mmm... what did he write!!!

Sunday 1 October 2006

how i lost 2 days

while most of everyone would think that working in the entertainment industry is all about being glam and red carpet... believe me it's NOT. *well fine the pass 2 days was in no relation with entertainment but it was still filming* thou i must admit it was fun working with dee lynn and nomi again. those mad after 12am bitches. haha.

there's a reason why i'm being so long winded... this is to show you how *we celebrities* loose waste our time

27 Sept 2006
5.30am woke up. mandi etc.
6.00am started my journey to LCC Terminal *FARking FAR*
6.40am arrived... even thou my call time was 7am... so i saw a production crew and decided to park near them... only after 30mins later i noticed they are not the crew i was suppose to be with... dang... there's another batch of production crew working near LCC terminal today... dang! called the producer and finally i was united with my geng.
7.30am waiting for the guards to settle our entry pass etc.
8.00 am finally we got a green light to go in... but no we are not allowed to go anywhere... we have to wait near the hangar. no you cannot set your catering here... wardrobe area? no don't know where... *and the call sheet says 8.00am we shot the interior of the plane... but the plane at that moment was... MIA*
9.00am we got our destinated changing room. bloody far. but nice place to... curi tulang... haha... cabin crew arrived.
10.00am more cabin crews arrive but the plane remained MIA. a total of 5 girls.
11.00am i think the plane finally arrived... the girls had their foundation done. i... had nothing to do since i was informed i do not need to style the cabin crews at all... *so why am i here since 7am?*
tick tock tick tock tick tock
1pm dee nomi and myself were bitching for 2 hours on everything we could... since we had nothing much to do... and they couldn't really do a proper make-up since the grooming department of the airline is yet to come. signer arrived, her translator also arrived...
2.00pm lunch break.
3.00pm. everyone is done with their make up etc... and i believe the crew has been shooting the interior of the plane... should have arrived by now right?
4.00pm till buka puasa... shall i say we had nothing to do but bitching and ranting...?
8.00pm we were still bitching... hahaha... i know... why did i bother coming in so early???
9.00pm finally... we were called to stand by... *after the whole day of stand by... we were still called to stand by* but by then the make-up on the cabin crews had already melted... had to redo... and the hairdo now looks... well... had to redo that as well...
10.30pm we finally started... i mean i finally started working... actually no not yet since i only had to style the signer and it's not her turn yet... but people very clever keep calling me to touch up on the wardrobe... URGH. fine since i had nothing better to do anyways.
tick tock tick tock tick tock... we finally finished the girls by 2.00am plus plus it was MY TURN to officially work...
YAY
after the signer had changed and some major minor alteration... and finally she was on set doing what she does best... even thou she constantly debated with her translator... we finally finished shooting at 5.00am... for day one. FYI in my call sheet i was suppose to end at 8.30pm. not 5.00 am... plus plus... F*UCK.

*do note that timming is a bit off track... but believe me... if i jotted down exactly what i was doing at what second... it would have been the worst days of my life...*

28 SEPT
once i got home i had a quick nap and a quick entry... as i had to start working on sunsilk's ad which is on saturday but since i have to be at LCC again for day 2 shoot... i had no time to spare... critical YOZ.
blah blah blah shop got home altered some stuffs. bathe ate rest. BLINK

29 SEPT 2006
i woke up an hour late. OMG
flew to LCC. and yet everyone was waiting. HA. HA. why did i bother rushing?
7.30 we got in. i panic a little seeing that there's about 35 people to style and look at today...
our changing room has been changed to a crappy room. smaller. and not so comfty.
and plan again is MIA loh...
8.30am well changed the first featured talent... after a quick breakfast. and mad up the cabin crews.
10.00am bitching started again...
11.00am plane finally arrived... we started ASAP
... ok i shall SPARE you the boring long details of my minute entry.
basically by 6pm only 2 featured talents were done... we had a total of 10 featured talents and the rest were just EXTRAS. that's how slow our pace was... freaking slow... and freaking hot... URGH. and they constantly asked for the next featured talents to be ready etc. by 8.00pm we basically send everyone into the plane but they weren't even ready to shoot them... YAWN...
skip skip skip
well we finally finished at 5.30am... and this finish isn't even finished... we still have another... oh 8 featured talents to do...

=)
we HAD to finish cuz... the plane had to go away... BYE BYE... the director had another shoot in the next morning... and... daniel... ye saya... had another set to go to at 7.00am... thank god sunsilk set is gol & gincu team... i manage to lepak and sleep a little once everything was OK.
oh la la... my 48 hours of being awake *ok so i nap a little here and there but still... i OH i didn't bathe for 2 days... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA* ... anyways my work officially ended only at ermmm... 1am this morning...
that's how i lost 2 days... i was on set the whole time... come to think about it... i lost 4 days... YIKS!

and my producer just called to confirm the additional shoot date... next week. double YIKS!!!

thank you for reading... and staying here with the long journal...
now i shall entertain you a little with the making of... KAMBING on the plane and will add the sunsilk's latest addition later, having problem loading it up...
