we go woosh~ and WOOSH~

.
mood: EXCITED.

the original plan was to do it the second day i got back from hong kong.
but since there wasn't enough people, the plan was postponed.
major DANG!

then finally li wei called again last week.
and proof. the next day we went. 28.03.08
HEHE!

apparently her cousin brother's friends will join.
and. WOW.
firstly, they are from hawaii.
secondly, they are half japanese.
thirdly, they are now based in JAPAN.

WOOTS~

anyways... we had to leave early in the morning. 7am.
to gopeng~

li wei and james drove.
i was being the clown in the car.
like a 'radio buruk'
*which means talk non stop, all nonsense*

we were brought to the resort upon arrival.
waited for other groups, then was given briefing. too much to remember.
donated a lot of blood. bring repellent!!!

tho the actual schedule got screwed up,
we will get wet then dirty now.
but hack, OFF we go~

white water rafting~

woosh~ woosh~ spoosh~~~ SPLASH!

i've always, always wanted to do this!
it's major major fun!!!
amazing experience!!!
am so looking forward to the monsoon season!!!

oh and we had constant water war along the river banks!
did some mmm... body rafting? SO SHIOKS!
everyone was so FUN and HAPPENING~

brent was being a big monyet. his body is damn chiseled! DANG!

lunch was served.
and then we chilled.
the river was SUPER ICE COLD.

li wei was being very disgusting, telling me, people shit in the river,
that it's totally normal and fine!
i swallowed water while doing body rafting...
-_-#

then later we were transported like pendatang asing,
illegal immigrant/worker
literally, we were standing on a truck, riding like livestocks?
was cool tho. if the trees weren't so LOW!
to our next adventure.
CAVING~ ... i forgotten the name of the cave -_-

was too dark to take much pictures.
but it was for a whole 3 hours.
and the water rafting was about 2 hours?
by the time we were done, we were half dead!?
and that's like only the day activity we had install!??

and we saw 2 snakes. they had the triangular head? EEEEK!!!

went back to kl after a quick shower.
send the boys back to the hotel for a proper bath.
we went back to bath. and a quick snack meal.

and OMG. i never knew that KL had such a great place to chill!!!
we went to 'Look Out Point'
i've no idea where we were.
but the sign board said KAJANG...

brent, daryl, xming, li wei, daniel, sean, clinton, james, and erm... jess??? yiks. sorry!

totally amazing. they called it the little genting.
perfect spot to berpancaran~

then went to bangsar for drinks. la bodega.
then to murnis to eat. we ended the day... night morning at 5am...

li wei was like... i'm old. can't take, do this much already. -_-
... sad to say but... SAME HERE...
daryl was guessing my age... his guess... 27.
@$#%^&%#@#%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -_-

DESERTS!

.
mood: Reminiscing.

there are many things that i miss about HK.
walking around. hiking the escalator.
the cold weather.
the harbour.
the city.

but the MAIN thing i'll miss about HK,
no it's not even shopping
well OK and a little on shopping

it's their deserts!!!

but when everyone came to visit,
and i said desert.
they thought it would be something like,
'sweet talk' or 'KTZ' or 'Kim Gary' style.

those deserts are overrated.
and passe already in HK.

perhaps only a few shops still operate as tong sui shops.
honeymoon and one more in nathan road's area.

ANYWAY~

almost every day, before i left,
i had to stop by VANILLA.
to get their choc smudge cake.
it's SO bitter sweet that it's a SIN to eat it.
and i would say it's the cheapest cheap thrill desert on mid-levels.

the price starts from HKD26 onwards.

ANTIQUE, it's near the famous egg tart shop.
right opposite. forgotten the street's name.

they sell all sorta cakes and deserts.
one was called, tira-i-mis-u?
OMG i forgotten!

OMFG.
what is wrong with my memory skill!
going down the drain as age catches up.

most deserts in HK are slightly smaller than our palm.

mr ginger bead doing splits!

SHIFT. again i forgotten the street's name.
but if you BRING me there,
i CAN so SHOW you where it is.

the deserts in this shop is basically a designer's desert.
price can range from... apx HKD60 to HKD200.
pretty steep. but it does taste so YUMMIE ah~

they also have a courtyard area.
which is SO cool!
so rustic and yet so modern.
but i was TO shy to snap pictures.
LOLs.

if you thought SHIFT was mad with the pricing.
ZOE would probably make Bakerzin look cheap.

but of cuz not all their cake is priced at this level,
some do start from HKD38 onwards.
but to know that there's a HKD1500 cake,
that's just... crazy!
add another HKD300 and i can have my miu miu wallet.

tho another requirement from them is,
if you don't eat more than HKD50 per person,
you are not entitled to sit in that restaurant.
you'll have to settle with take away~
which is what we did. so poor ma.

however fancy their new lifestyle deserts maybe,
i still love my put chai ko.
cheap and YUMMIE.

MMMM~ sedaps!

ah. i need a holiday~
i am so missing JAPAN this whole month.

798 Art District, Hotel, Hong Kong.

.
mood: Happy.

2nd January 2008 (Tuesday)

last night at the hotel.

oh ritz calrton, it's because of you, i'm spoilt. thank god. i have my silk comfy-tor now...

regretted for not snapping the new year's display from the room's view.
i didn't know they would remove it the very next day~
too efficient.
unlike *cough cough* country.

for the last day,
we didn't want to go out initially,
but already made the appointment with xiaolu.
so we just woke up very late.

had the late breakfast,
dashed to the art district 798.

pretty far away from the hotel.
but it was worth the visit.

we only then regretted not going out earlier.
the art movement here in china has changed a lot.

buildings of cause has a major revamp,
not just because of the olympics,
but i guess chinese finally figured that there's not much point to live in the past.

and this is also one of the conflict that the people have.
changed are good,
but this is probably too fast for them to adapt.

heritage is not entirely lost, of cause.
since they still spilt everywhere, anywhere
just most structures have had a major revamp.
residential side is still... pretty much rustic.

anyhow, 798 was previously an industrial area.
later turned into a soho art district.
it reminds me a lot of berlin.

For more about 798 Art District, visit Wikipedia.

our last pic and my last meal in beijing so salah...

it's pretty amazing that i managed to visit beijing at the year end,
and to celebrate new year's there with friends i made along the way.
i figured that after coming down to hk,
that is my last "holiday" for the year,
but i ended up going else where.

overall beijing has been superb.
even with the brutal cold. i so miss it!!!
i am so prepared for another negative weather~ just 3 tops. 2 bottoms.

one thing i love about this city is the structure.
how it is divided into 6 different rings,
just like Pareehsss~
can't wait to visit the city of love!

once again,
i did a 'budget trip',
which i ended up spending more than what i budgeted for.
a total of... RMXk. damn!
but nonetheless it was a good experience!

was also kinna funny at the end of this trip back home was to hong kong first.

on the way to the airport

A big HUGE THANK YOU,
to Chee and Xiaolu for the experiencesss!!!

.
mood: Ogay.

will be home this weekend.

wouldn't know if i'll be going off soon again.

everything depends on the mood.
i go with the flow~

couldn't finish the entire series,
since they only uploaded till episode 6,
but i already have my favorite songs from the series...

so much to do.
plenty of overly due post...
like all my shopping frenzy
but like i always say... i'm LAZY~
OH... i don't have a shopping issue BTW!
it's just that i like owning nice things,
i mean a LAZY ass like ME?
LIKE SHOPPING? oh come on it's such a hard cardio workout!!!
so happens i like nice new stuffs and they are out there...
waiting to be... MINE. see. that just makessss so much SENSE now.
;o)

Great Wall, Cloisonné, Olympic Stadiums, Worms!

.
1st January 2008 (Tuesday)

my body is starting to generate heat to protect me.
*i eventually had a fever without knowing*

after breakfast, a quick one, we met Helen.
she was our tour guide for the day.

we took the private tour mainly cus it was suggested by Bob,
the hotel concierge, that it's safer. fine by us.

we divas, need to travel in style.
but since it's a luxurious hotel,
i pai seh to snap the picture of the limo.

i slept during the 1 hour ride to the great wall.
the part we went was the 'MUTIANYU wall',
was said to be better as it's built on hills,
so much steeper,
and has more original wall compared to the 'BADALING wall'.
but that package was cheaper.

it was freezing~
i have no idea how i survived!
but i doubt i want to do this in the summers,
damn hot~

in the modern days, cable cars existed.
the olden days, you have to hike up before even doing the "walk".
that is, pure madness!

one side is china one side is mongolia.
just amazing. i went two countries in one journey!
LOLs

the view, the scenery, the everything was just amazing.
i always wanted to see the great wall, and there i was.
breathtaking!

being built during apx 220BC, using only man labour, and literally humans,
this is one structure that no humans in the modern world can create,
without the help of technology.

closest i'll get to snow... for now...

so after some hours of walking,
just so i can camwhore
we decided it was enough.
as a man there said,
*a permanent resident there*
you can take 1000 pictures here today but it's all WALLs.
which was kind of true, only different perspectives and angles,
but the view is about the same,
with WALLS as your backdrop.

i know, i camwhored a LOT~

boy oh boy~
the we came up with the cable car,
we went down, with the Tobago?
sudah lupas,
but COOLS!!!
like those sunway lagoon water ride from the hill down.
all the way from great wall down to earth... HAHAHAHA!

FUNs!!!
Helen gets to ride all these for free! damnit! so FUN~
*helen & chee was walking hiking on great wall with heels!*

we went for a quick Cloisonné history tour.
shopped a bit
didn't know that those pots were enamel & copper wire,
always thought they were ceramics.
then lunch. didn't turn out as yummie as we hoped for.

then drove back to town,
helen was kind enough to take us to the olympic village for a quick detour,
considering this was suppose to be a half day tour.

was so amazing lo to see how they build the stadium.

later we went to the silk factory shop,
at first we were thinking...
OH they are going to show us KAINs...
GOOD!
we shouldn't have anything to buy.

turns out... they showed us comforters...
made of silk. soft nice comfty silks.
the process and the cocoons, showing us the worms, etc.
made it worth while... so worth it... so true...
so luxurious...

cloisonné factory & silk shop

i ended up owning a RMB1980 G3 silk comforter...
PENGZ.

then we went to the tea house.
to see a pissing tea boy.
but they don't do english or malay or canto.
that hour was for russian. yea sure.

went to another one which was way simpler.
we ended up with more bags

that wraps up the entire so called half day tour.
helen then asked the driver to send us to Green Tea House,

where i had the most expensive dinner in beijing,
RMB1200 per person without wine or taxes yet.

and SIAL, they don't allow photography.
but die die also we wanted to take,
afterall we sorta flew all the way here just for this restaurant.
and to later find out they have a new outlet in hong kong

so the professional camwhore started doing spy shots.

after dinner chee went back, for her spa, and i headed down to 'The Place Mall' again,
since i so tak puas didn't manage to camwhore with the big lighted tv screen!

was ok la. not that hooo haaa afterall. but BIG nonetheless.

on the way back was so tired, but manage to do a quick snap of this light up drums tower.

... i thinks... haha. forgotten the building's name de. LOLs.

and i ended the night with a swim at the heated pool. splash~

*and eventually found out i'm not suppose to snap the pools picture... OPS*
