and this post is a tribute to one of them
both with the surname of chee
coincidentally
mr chee who learnt fine art from jolly koh taught me art
showed me what a tv commercial world is like
showed me what is art when i was 16
he also told me how to select my college
yes. i might have studied in cenfad...
but i was never there for parsons or the name itself
i was there because of chee au.
and that was because mr chee told me...
you learn from your lecturer not from the college...
the center is nothing without a good lecturer...
(actually till today, i've not graduated from any of the colleges i went too... HAHAHA)
i entered a competition when i was 17...
i won
YAY
well that's not the point...
but that's where i meet chee au & sharifah...
(sharifah also taught me fashion and art at cenfad later when i enrolled in it)
chee au was well... at a so so mood at that time
and i only manage to spend like a few moment with her
even thou i was truly inspired
and my first true fashion terminology was whale bone...
haha
even thou i know about fabrics and their flow since young...
i never venture much into it
until the competition
and especially after meeting chee au i wanted to do fashion even more...
so who's chee au?
she's just someone who was born in malaysia. and then further her studies in new york parsons... she did some other horror course before that... i remember her telling me she did biology... and that's why she knows the fibula and god knows what other bone that was when she taught me how to draw the leg part...
anyhows... she then worked with donna karan or she did her intern... mmm... and then oscar de la renta and kenzo before returning to malaysia to care for her sick mother and worked as a lecturer then... at cenfad.
6 years after that she went back to the main line...
she then worked for shanghai tang as their head designer
and boy was she bitchy
hahahaha
from the stories she told me... GOSH! hahahaha
it was so funny
and now finally... after so long...
chee au presents the label CHEE AU to Paris Fashion Week
well even thou she didn't win the Paris Booth for free...
it's still a YAY!!!
anyways here are some of her pass illustrations...
illustrations she did that i felt inlove with
they are so real and amazing...
too bad you can't see her latest work...
well at least not yet... not until she allows me to say anything about it...
but trust me it's so AMAZING!
i've been given the exclusiveness for a sneak preview...
where will CHEE AU be made available?
certainly not here in malaysia...
hahaha
malaysian's mentality for fashion is still not there yet...
