Frida Kahlo

mood: Happy.

wow. i just finished the most amazing film.

FRIDA.
the life of frida kahlo.

before this i have never noticed her works.
but suddenly. it hit me.
i've seen it in friends house la.
at some offices la.
and like everywhere!
of cuz not the original but prints

i feel shallow. ><
maybe i studied about her in redza piyadasa's class and forgotten.

anyhow her work are pretty similar with dali salvador.
since most of her work is surrealism.
and realism and symbolism

July 6, 1907 – July 13, 1954

i feel a hasbian.
again
after watching this movie.
WOOTS.
LOLs~

her words...

"I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best."

"I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration."

"I suffered two grave accidents in my life. One in which a streetcar knocked me down.....The other accident is Diego."

"Being the wife of Diego is the most marvelous thing in the world. I let him play matrimony with other women. Diego is not anybody's husband and never will be, but he is a great comrade."

"My painting carries with it the message of pain.....Painting completed my life.....I believe that work is the best thing."

"I never knew I was a surrealist till Andre Breton came to Mexico and told me I was."

"I leave you my portrait so that you will have my presence all the days and nights that I am away from you."

Recalling her hospitalization in 1950, Frida said, "I never lost my spirit. I always spent my time painting, because they kept me going with Demerol, and this animated me and it made me feel happy....I joked around, I wrote, they brought me movies....I cannot complain".

At her last exhibition in Mexico, Frida told reporters, "I am not sick. I am broken. But I am happy as long as I can paint".

"I drank to drown my pain, but the damned pain learned how to swim, and now I am overwhelmed by this decent and good behavior."

"Oh doctor if I can have this tequila, I promise not to drink in my funeral."

"I hope the exit is joyful and I hope never to return."

and i stumble to this witty one.
LOLs!!!
