day two. Kunitachi. Shinjuku. Harajuku. Shinjuku.

Kunitachi

it's a fabulous area i must say. nothing like petaling jaya. kajang. bandar utama. kota kemuning. damansara perdana. sri hartamas. klang. ampang. etc. maybe a little similar to those housing areas in singapore instead. like tampines. love the fact that the train station is nearby but you still can't really walk you have nothing better to do. *cuz walking so much and another 2km would kill me* so i sat the bus everyday. *well except one day, i decided to walk and snap pictures* the cost was ¥170 for a really short ride, but long walk. hehe. i felt it was worth every ¥. (actually the local consider kunitachi as a city... mmm)

wendy's house was the west exit. it's purely residential area. just a few shops to be seen. mainly a MOS Burger shop. A petrol station. and that's about it. until her residential area, you could then see a laundy shop. and shiedo outlet. i don't know why. people are probably very vain there. yes. even the aunty who sweeps the floor have make up on. but NO it's nothing like rosie of PCK. they have very sane normal pretty make up on for work. very nice wan.

while the south was a much more happening area. there's almost life there. haha. lots of shops and almost mall like buidlings. yoshinoya is a *to my suprise* rice shop and not noodle/ramen shop in japan. there's a ¥100 nearby, thou i never found it. there's also mcD. lots of shop basically. even those 20mins hair cut shops. keke. oh but it's not RM15 kay, the price remains ¥4050.

in order to get back to the west side you had to walk a big circle. there's no bridge. or unless you have the monthly JR train pass you could then swipe yourself inside the train station and head for the west side. was alright la, cuz i did wanna walk and see the area, and if i lived there i would have their monthly train ticket ma.

one of the few last buidlings that would have that triangle roof top.

Walk of the day.

* woke up about 1100, decided to just go back to Shinjuku for a quick proper view of the miserably train station that fright the hell out of me. yes. i was scared by the people in Shinjuku. very FAST their movement. somehow today it wasn't all that bad. i felt their pace was somehow... slower than before. maybe it was me. maybe it was the horrible luggage that i had to carry with me that made me felt like i was a slow walking cow.
* immediately i went straight off to harajuku. the place that we've all be told and heard lots about. the harajuku girls. WOOT! i was teruja just thinking of going there. making a stop there.
* before i stopped at each station, my imagination would run wild, thinking that the people at each stops are like totally bizzare and different, you know i blame that on all the mangas i read while growing up
* upon arrival. CHEH. why like kampung wan! where are my harajuku gilrs ah??? why all aunties wan??? OMG gwen stefani lied about the harujuku girls! she made them up!!! i see nothing but a kawaii toy shop and normal looking people! can i go home now?

* well fine i decided to walk along the flow. and i saw a lot of normal looking shops. there's not a single sight of WEIRD dressed up people. then a hustler approached me. WOOT. but sorry i have no idea what he said. i just SHUUZZZ him off with WTF!? in glamour england.
* walk walk walk. i got sorta lost. but always a happy lost when i'm in a foreign land. oh so teruja. maybe this leads me to yoyogi park. since everyone's walking there. unfotch not. but i did manage to find a second hand shop for kimonos. spend like half the day there. i lurves it. had ice cream.

second hand kimono shop.

japan ain't that advance. no. i didn't eat mcflurry there. i ate the jap ice-cream. YUM.

* exhausted. drained. i decided to open up the book bernard pinjam me (it now looks like crap, i'm affraid of returning it back to him... ops) chiew! yoyogi park was like next to the train station? DANG! and i'm now 5km away from it? shit!
* amazingly even with a map i still got lost. i was somehow in a forest. and then i saw a shrine. for the first time. i mean a japan style one la. those you see in kill bill. AMAZING. Meiji Shrine.

ta da.

i've no idea what these are. looks fascinating thou. snap snap.

kawaii...

* yoyogi park was next to the meiji shrine. and by the time i found the park it was almost dark. well it was about 1600 and it gets dark by then already. Yong called. we decided to meet up at the station.
* he brought me to another side of Harajuku. i finally saw some harajuku girls. very little. like they are almost extinct. haha. well apparently they are mostly seen on saturday or sundays, the other days they stay home and rest etc. yong then bought me a crepe ice cream. yummie.

Shinjuku night life.

* yong brought me to an electronical shop. got my ipod mini. blue. wanted the playstation portable. but the region is like tak ngam. so didn't bother much la. but cheaper by RM200 leh! even the ipod saved me RM214.
* and later to reliase... that japan has the ipod mini in RED. woots. i had to have it. so... HAHAHAHAHA. i have 2 kawaii ipods now.
* we then ate curry. japan style. erm... super salty and sweet. haha. nothing like our Malaysian curry.

yummie... no it's not all that yummie... haha.

*also saw a baseball field. you know those you always see... should have played a little. so menyesal now. oh well. we'll open one in malaysia. haha.

i know it looks dark la.
*waited for Wendy. she had work that night. right after classes. yeah that's how her life is like. everyday run here and there. do homework. get stuck in subways. (she then made me follow her the next day on the morning madness ride of japan railways, peak hour 0730 - 0930)

the phone i always use in japan. haha. yes i would walk back to the same phone. heh.

i saw this vintage shoe shine stall the day before. i felt weird seeing it. you know that feeling... granny cleaning your shoes. it's just so not right.

so PINK which ones you want??? call them!!! hahaha.

they plucked these apples before i arrived. so BIG! juicy. the ones with spots actually have honey in them. natural honey. so sweet. saliva dripping. ops.

Thoughts for now.

i should do something with the background. it's bugging me. and my readers. DANG. like i care. haha.
*so after that i did change the background... it's much lighter now*

DAMNIT. i should have snap that kawaii shop and that kimono shop.
*the picture of Kunitachi station and kawano was from their website. haha. why snap when it's online?

HAPPY HelloWEEN y'all.

they have shops like this everywhere. some were better. too bad i didn't had the guts to snap their pictures... le sigh.

basically ¥100 is our RM3.15
