day one. Shinjuku.

i promise the next entries will not be so long and boring. (actually i doubt it...)
26.10.06 (0337)

the LAMB in the big CITY.

* apx 0635 i arrived Narita airport on the 16th Oct.
* custom had this immigration officer that was so due for a retirement but nevertheless his eyesight was so good he manage to spot alien's technical error. (HUH?) people had lots of mistakes written on their travellers form. except mine of cuz. *wink*
* oh they don't allow me to rent a handphone unless i have a credit card. and no i don't have one and even if i did i will never bring it to japan, milan, new york, china, indonesia, hong kong and the list goes on... i'll go so broke i'll have to beg for a ticket back home. and once i'm home... i'll have to hide somewhere high and secluded.
* the train system is farking confussing! had to pay 3500Yen for a ride to Shinjuku via JR Shinkansen. (i felt so broke after purchasing that ticket) just so i wouldn't get stressed up with looking any futher if there's any other cheaper ways to get there. (a taxi would have cost RM1200.00, yes that much)
* i got even lost in Shinjuku (i was already a little lost in Narita). see i was suppose to meet a friend (Wendy) in Shinjuku. but she's at class. and i have no way to communicate with her, until i get a handphone card... (i know everything will eventually turn out fine, but it still a drama diva moment when you are technically lost with out a phone or destination while carrying 3 huge heavy bags, worst when i was coming back)
* apx 0945 eventually got Yong (couldn't get thru Wendy's phone line), Wendy's boyfriend. he told me to wait a while. but me being me... i can't stand still in a city so exciting and so busy... like what la... you want me to wait here while hundreads and hundreads of people are like rushing... imagine Singaporeans in the morning catching a MRT ride but you times fifty to that ammount... yes it was like a army of black suit walking ants marching around me. oh so teruja.
* found a aunty who speaks very minimal England. (and later noticed she don't even know Shinjuku very well) she insist that BUNKA is at Shibuya and not Shinjuku. so she asked that i get a ticket to Shibuya. once i arrive Shibuya... they said BUNKA is not in that district.
* got fed up called Wendy again, she finally answered me call. YAY. and went back to Shinjuku and finally meet up with her. she passed me her handphone to play with for the day. and sent me off for my own mini walk (well kinna long) after i tour BUNKA first. then walk around Shinjuku while she still had lessons until about 1600.
* finally saw all the landmark that she gave me. like first kicthen, noni juice company. (initially when she describe all the landmarks i had an imagination that her university area was so kampung... that why i got shock when i came out from the train station... WHY SO BIG WANT THIS PLACE... oh NOOO...)

SHINJUKU.

* my eyes were looking here and there.
* busy busy busy city.
* super vibrant with all the neon lights (no it wasn't ON yet but they were there la those big billboards)
* LUMINE has like 3 big complex. (it's their shopping mall) just one is the size of 1Utama.
* lots of walking here and there. don't know what to see/buy... aimlessly walking in JAPAN. walk walk walk... hehe.
* went to Kabuki-Cho district to snap a few quick pictures of male hustlers for PINK. since she wanted me to bring back her a male from Japan. HO HO.
* first night we had a dinner in Kunitachi. the area where i'll be calling home for the next 5 days. pleasant country/city area.
* i was dead tired. as i've not been sleeping since... Saturday night and today's Monday. no i didn't manage to sleep on the plane. and once i arrived i started walking already. blah.

Thoughts of the Day.

KLIA beats Narita airport. HO HO. i'm serious.
*ok fine so maybe i didn't had a proper glance of the airport since i left like immediately since i didn't want to be in a train full of people. they said if you are in a train in-between 0730-0930 you'll be in a sardine can. and no no i didn't want that with 3 bags. NO. but silly me... the train i'm in... is a reserved seating. so i don't have to stand. i have my name on my seat*

If Shinjuku is that BIG... then... Shibuya must be... mmm... i wonder...

Toilets are so funny. *too bad i didn't bother taking any pictures*

People walking in black suits... don't bother talking to them. SCARY!
People static... say HI. they might help you. but you'll get even LOST. since... JAPAN is so big they wouldn't know all the roads in their own district... what more another city or different districts... le SIGH!
